      kyp is a part of one of the "7 commitments" namely "Arthic Hal, Yuvao Ko Bal". The Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM) has launched a unique skill training programme by the name of   "kushal   Yuva   program " which  would enhance the employability Skills of all aspirants in the age of 15 -18 age. Who have passed at least 10th class .

Age limit for;

Life skills, communication skills (in English and Hindi), and basic computer literacy would be included in soft skills training, which would improve participants' employability and add value to the many domain-specific training initiatives now being carried out in Bihar.

      Background

Although qualified, it was found that Bihar's youngsters lacked the fundamental soft skills and information technology (IT) knowledge required for today's jobs. The youth struggled to locate the appropriate professions that matched their qualifications and aptitude as a result.
In light of the aforementioned situation, the Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM) developed and introduced the Kushal Yuva Programme (KYP), a novel skill-training initiative designed to increase the employability of Bihar's youth and strengthen the state's various domain-specific training initiatives.

Intervention

In its initial stage, the KYP focuses on young people between the ages of 15 and 25 who have completed at least the 10th grade. The 240-hour course curriculum is broken down into three parts: soft skills (40 hours), communication skills (80 hours), and basic computer literacy (120 hours), all of which are intended to increase employability.
The entire delivery process takes place on a platform called "E-Learning Revolution for All (ERA)" that offers self-paced learning, interactive sessions, practical learning, corrective mechanisms, continual evaluation, and final evaluation. 120 sessions totaling 240 hours are evenly divided into 20 sessions for soft skills, 40 sessions for communication skills, and 60 sessions for fundamental computer literacy.

A candidate will obtain session-by-session certificates for successfully completing each session of the sequential learning process, as well as a final certificate upon successfully passing the final assessment, thanks to the integration of an online assessment and certification procedure.

Keeping an eye on the programme:

BSDM uses a multifaceted strategy to keep track of the KYP programme:

    . Each district has a staff of District Skill Managers who make recurrent visits to track the development of each centre.
    . The duty of overseeing the routinely held training has also been delegated to the District Administration.
     . To record the daily "in" and "exit" times of registered candidates, a real-time biometric attendance system has been installed.
      . The use of individual learning reports supported by time-stamped images taken by the Web cameras mounted in each Laptop/PC in the training centre is the most reliable method of monitoring, in the end. The time-stamped photos and student-specific learning reports are accessible to BSDM at any time via a web interface.
